Wholemeal Pizza
This pizza is an extremely satisfying pizza, not to mention under 500 calories and guilt free. A normal shop bought/take away pizza can easily be between 800-1000 calories and a large slice of Dominos pizza can even be as much as 200 calories a slice. This pizza base is just as easy to make and provides more nutrients and wholesome goodness than your typical takeaway.
For one pizza
Ingredients
Base
Wholemeal flour
Yeast
Water
Sauce
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
A sprinkle of red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
1 Tsp of salt
A handful of fresh basil
Topping
1/2 Chicken breast
30g Mozzarella
Spinach
Mushrooms
Red onion
Bell pepper
Method
1. Mix all of the base ingredients together in a big mixing bowl
2. Scatter flour on the work surface to ensure the mix doesn't stick
3. Shape the mix into a circle on top of the flour mix
4. Spread olive oil onto a flat baking tray and lay the base on top of the tray
5. Spoon 1-3 tablespoons of the sauce onto the base and evenly spread
6. Place your toppings on the pizza and put in the oven
7. Cook for around 10-12 minutes or until the base is crispy
Feel free to add any toppings you fancy. These were just my preferences. The sauce will also provide you with a lot more than you need so either make more pizza's or keep the sauce for a pasta dish.
